I officially produced my first piece in the form of a promotional video for the College of Charleston Cougar Club. I wish to share a few key lessons that directing and producing this video taught me:

1. Creating a 45 second commerical takes seven hours.

2. Who John Kresse is. Apparently he's extremely famous and I live under a rock.

3. If you're ever embarassed to ask something at work, just Google it. Like who John Kresse is before you interview him for a commercial.

4. The most CRUCIAL aspect of shooting a video is proper lighting. You can use the highest quality equipment and shoot the best shot, but it won't do the trick if you can't see the footage.

5. How to use Final Cut Pro. (Once again, Google any questions you may have here.)

6. YouTube to mp3 converting websites are a saving grace. If you don't know what I mean, try to make a commerical without music and then get back to me.

7. Creativity is limitless--if something doesn't turn out the way you intended, there are a million other ways to do it.

Enjoy!
